hi, i'm mattias, living in jura, switzerland. i work at theaters and festivals as a freelance technician, i like climbing, hiking in the mountains and photography.
i started photography few years ago with sometimes a ditigal camera and most of the time my phone. something around 3 years ago i found the old analog cameras from my parents and thought it would be a good idea to try them. at the beginning, 2/3 of the cameras were "working", an olympus om10 and a minolta 7000, after few months the olympus broke. i used to shoot a few films with the minolta for a good 2 years period.
something like one year ago i was bored of dusted/scratched films of the minolta and i found two good deals, a Minolta X700 with 3 lenses and a point and shoot Chinon Auto GL-S in perfect condition fully serviced. i took the chinon everywhere with me when climbing and hiking, and shoot many films with it. i used the minolta less than the chinon but still got few nice films with it. then i was bored to spend too much money for developing and scanning the negatives in labs, so i started to get stuff for developing and scanning 35mm b&w and color films.
and few months ago i found a nice deal for an olympus trip 35 and a mamiya 135 ee, i cleaned and did a little service to both, sold the mamiya and kept the olympus for me. a friend of mine offered me a durst m605 b&w enlarger he was not using anymore, so i started getting stuff for printing b&w negatives.
finally one month ago i got my first medium format camera, a rolleicord vb in actually very good conditions and was sold as "for pieces". i had to do a little deep cleaning and got scared a few times trying to disassemble it. but i did it and it is now working pretty well. i found an old pentax spotmeter III for metering too.
now i'm going to stop telling a story every time i buy something otherwise i'm going to have to write a book.
